¿Qué puede hacer hoy para ayudar a la estadidad convertirse en una realidad?
- Firme la petición. Ya tenemos más de 1,000 firmas, pero sabemos que si tenemos más firmas estará más claro aún que el Congreso tiene que prestarnos atención.
- Comuníquese con sus legisladores. Puerto Rico tiene una Comisionada Residente sin derecho a Ella apoya vehementemente a la estadidad. Pero si usted vive en uno de los 50 estados, tiene representantes en la Cámara y en el Senado que sí tiene voto. Déjeles saber que a usted sí le importa Puerto Rico.
- Escríbale por Twitter a sus legisladores. Los miembros del Congreso le prestan atención a los medios sociales. Utilice la aplicación para silenciar a la derecha, o busque las cuentas de Twitter de sus legisladores y escríbales. Los estudios han demostrado que no se necesitan cientos de tuits para expresar su opinión – ¡su tuít cuenta!
- ¡Envíe por Twitter sus sugerencias a sus seguidores también! Cada uno de nosotros conoce a diferentes grupos de personas, así que mientras más personas escriban por Twitter, a más personas llegaremos. ¡Yo tomé acción para que Puerto Rico sea el estado 51! ¿Harás tú lo mismo? Click To Tweet

I believe Statehood is the last thing we should be talking and concerned about it. PR needs to grow and become an example of the future.
I was born and raised in PR, as young adult become a member of Civil Air Patrol AF auxiliary org, as unpopular and unknown to many people I became president of the high school senior class 1986, we achived, 8 bands Centro de Convenciones, no graduation or prom fees for students, Universidad Politecnica, electric engineer student. I dropped from college so my Dad didn’t have to pay for my tuition, joined the Army at 19, returned to PR and served as a Police Officer for 4 years.
In 1998 returned to the Army, served as CID Special Agent, member of the security deposit of two SECDEF, become the 1SG of one largest commands in Europe, and retired last year with honors.
Soon after I hang my hat and decided to traveled around Europe on my bicycle. Visited 10 countries. Saw many things, good and not so good. But always the question on the back of my head. Why PR can’t change, why nothing is improving, why RT1 Caguas a SJ still in the same terrible conditions than when I was in high school? Why a Country so small can’t get better?
5 plebicitos, millions spend on it, no results.
The problem is that culturally, we want and expect other people to solve our problems.
We need to change how politics work in PR.

Time to gain the trust of the Puertoricans then work on Statehood.
I’m year 3,000? Statehood is the solution to our economic crisis… The constitution done allow us the opportunity to grow because we have to give our profits to the Federal Government where no state do this. Get your facts together Popular!!! Colonial status must end period then we can talk about the solution of our social economical problems. We are American, so we need to be equals like all American people as prescribed in the US Constitution, equal under the same flag!!
Humberto; in 1952, Puerto ricans accepted new govertment system called commonwealth. I was a child at that time. I have to imagine what was spoken during that ‘constituyente”. During that time Luis Munoz Marin and the ppd promised that the new government was temporalily and as soon as Puerto Rico was in better shape we would have a permanent political solution. Somehow LMM , alongside with the ppd, lied to us (puerto Rico) and we havent seen a real effort to fix the colonial status.
Our problems, political, economical or mental are the reponsibiilty of the fanatical base of el partido popular. As long that puerto ricans keep believing the garbage that ppd promise; we will keep going downhill.
I live in the state of Florida, I’m infavor. State hood for puerto rico , its time to change .statehood is way overdo for puertorico….
I hope we can do Statehood before socialists and comunists take over this country
