We are proud to sponsor this event. Puerto Rico Day includes panels on issues affecting Puerto Rico and the Hispanic community. It is a bipartisan event, bringing together leaders from different parts of the community in a celebration of the Floridian Puerto Rican experience.

There are now more than a million Puerto Ricans living in Florida. For many years, New York had there largest Puerto Rican population in the 50 states. Now, Florida surpasses New York. Puerto Rico Day gives all of us an opportunity to recognize the contributions our community has made to Florida. It also provides a chance to discuss the challenges of such a monumental population shift.

This is a chance to learn, to celebrate, and to reach out to others, including a diverse group of leaders.
