Major General Antonio Vicens

Major General Vicens was the Adjutant General of Puerto Rico, the governor’s primary military advisor, from 2009 to 2012. He oversaw both federal and territorial missions of the Puerto Rico National Guard in this position.

Vicens received the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal, numerous Army Medals and Ribbons, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Armed Forces Reserve Medal, among other honors. He has been inducted into the Officer Candidate School Hall of Fame of the Puerto Rico National Guard in Fort Allen, Puerto Rico and The Inter-American Defence College, Ft. McNair, Washington DC.

Samuel Rodriguez

Sam Rodríguez is the CEO of the Borinqueneers Congressional Gold Medal Ceremony National Committee. He was instrumental in gaining the Congressional Gold Medal for the Borinqueneers, a Puerto Rican regiment that served throughout most of the 20th century.

Rodriguez received the AVB PURPOSE Award in 2019 for his work on this issue.
