The Voices for Statehood campaign aims to share the stories of individuals who stand for statehood for Puerto Rico.
There are many good reasons for supporting statehood. Justice, fairness, equality, and human rights all motivate us to support statehood.
National security for the United States, a need to allow servicemen and women to vote for their Commander in Chief, and supporting American values are more good reasons to fight for statehood for Puerto Rico.
But the people whose lives are most affected by the inequity of territorial status have more personal reasons. Your experience and the struggles of your friends and family can give people who need to learn more a new way to look at Puerto Rico and a deeper understanding of the statehood issue.
